Last weekend, Brooks and I ran in the Beer and BBQ 5k in Traveler's Rest. Although it sounded fun when we signed up for it, I dreaded it a little the week before because I knew we would be running in the heat. It was about 85 degrees when we began running but once we started it was no big deal. We both finished with a fast time and it left us wondering whether it was a true 5k. Maybe we ran faster because we knew because we knew there was good things waiting for us at the end. I also learned it isn't wise to drink a beer after running in the heat. Lesson learned and on to the next race.
