Signs, Words and Soccer balls

It has been a delight to watch the little one's vocabulary grow and see him communicate with us more and more.  He knows a few signs such as "more", "food", "help", and "all done".   He also uses the sign for "yes" as "thank you" since we taught him the wrong sign.  Sigh.  If you ask just right, he might blow you a kiss.  He can point to his nose, ears, and (to my joy) his prominent little belly.

He is adding spoken words all the time as well (Dada, cracker, breakfast, bottle, more, Amen). Elijah will also copy what we say, not getting the sounds right but trying.  His all time favorite word at the moment is "ball", often said as a question... "ball?"  This is many times his first word in the morning and his most used word during the day.  I don't know if it is his age, or that he is a little boy, or just his personality but this little one loves balls.  He points them out everywhere even pointing to the gum balls in a machine at a restaurant- "ball?"  He has napped with his ball, bathed with it, and tosses it for Ziva to chase.  But his favorite is to play with Daddy and his soccer balls in our yard.  I think this is my favorite too.
